My mother started it at some point, got all the applique work and embroidery completed and then apparently stored it away. I found it in her sewing about five years ago. She has been gone for over 10 years and so I don't know when she started the quilt. I have pulled it out and am quilting it for my grandson's wedding as a gift from his grandma (me) and great-grandma. I would like to know a little more about it though. It's going to be quite pretty when finished as I using the lines she apparently drew on it in a connect the dots way so it is being hand completed. Kit quilts were a big part of qu...Great Post Lynn!!<br />Kit quilts were a big part of quilt history (and I say still are...every magazine has a kit you can buy for the project in that issue)<br />I have seveal old kits that I finish some day....and To me they are still handmade quilts....just less shopping to get all the pieces!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
