  2. I just answered my questions by highlighting the pictures!! This is absolutely gorgeous!! Most of the colors remain vibrant!! Love the shape of the pot!! Never have seen that design before!! Thank You for sharing!! I have wondered if people quilted through appliqués, and this gives a great example of how they preserve the fabric, by being quilted through

    I am a quilter living in Sydney, Australia, and am currently researching this pattern for my own interest. There is a wonderful article by Connie Nordsrom about this pattern published in the 2002 copy of Uncoverings, and I have found what I think are 12 additional examples made before 1900, one of them being this one, which I first saw in the Quilt Index. May I ask, is this your quilt? If not, is it in a privTe collection or in a museum? Do you know anything about the provenance of it? It is an absolutely beautiful quilt and the colouration of the borders is a big part of the appeal to me. Thank you so very much for your brilliant close up photos!
